Its been more than a year since we’ve started trying for a baby. Still no luck. We’ve decided to see a doctor to find out if anything is wrong.
To cut long stories short, we found that I have not been ovulating from a blood test. I have been getting my periods regularly, but as my doctor explained, that does not mean that I have ovulated. He also did a scan on my ovaries. At the time of my visit, I was at my 14th day of my cycle. My follicles were not at its optimum size to produce an egg. It was only 10mm then. It has to be at least 20mm for ovulation to happen.
The Dr. prescribed Clomid to induce ovulation. Since then, I’ve been reading lots of its success rates and side effects. I’m suppose to take it from the 2nd day of my period for 5 days and make an appointment to see the doctor on the 10th and 12th day of my cycle. He needs to monitor if I am ovulating and how many eggs I will produce. Producing 3 – 4 eggs is deemed normal but 6 – 8 eggs is abnormal. This may result in poor egg quality.
So till my period comes, which me luck. Am staying strong.
