I finally got a book that prepares me for conception. My friend A suggested that I get something to read. Apparently there are loads to be learned.

The book I got is called Planning for a Baby by Dr. Sarah Brewer. It goes through all aspects like health, what to eat, what vitamins to take, why I should stop smoking(!!!) etc… Am still in the middle of it. But so far this is what I’ve found out:

- You gotta take folic acid. To prevent Neural tube defect.
- Eat oily fish like salmon and mackarel at least once a week. Promote baby’s brain
development. Gona take loads of this! Baby’s gona be a surgeon someday haha! Also
makes your skin smooth and not itchy towards the end of pregnancy. Also makes you less
catty …. Hehe…. Less bad tempered I presume.
- Should not scoop kitty liter. Apparently the smell is bad fer ya
- Smoking is a big NO NO. Same with alcohol.
- Eat 5 portions of fruits and vege a day. Am starting that now. Forcing myself to eat fruits
for lunch …. And nothing else.
- Exercising is ok. Just don’t go horseback riding. OK… got to hang up those boots and whip
now.

Gosh…. I can’t believe there is so much involved. But all good info and quite do-able.

Am doing lots of yoga and pilates to strengthen myself. My hamstrings are still quite stiff from my back surgery. But I've got literally no back aches or shoulder aches since I started.
